In 1931, Mahatma Gandhi decided to call off the Civil Disobedience movement and entered into a pact with Lord Irwin. Mahatma Gandhi attended the Round Table Conference but the negotiations failed in the Conference. ... By the end of 1930 the civil disobedience movement had spread in many parts of India
1.The colonial government began to use stern steps to stop the mass agitation. Various congress leaders were arrested which led to widespread of violent clashes with the police
2.The arrest of Abdul Gaffar khan in Peshawar resulted in a demostration and defying of police authority by the crowd .Many died in clash .
3.Mahatma Gandhi himself was arrested which led to attacks on police posts,muncipal buildings,law courts,etc
4.The british once again began a series of brutal repression of demostrators and attacked peaceful satyagrahis.Women and childre where beaten.
5.A large number of people where arrested.
