The movement which was called off by Mahatma Gandhi was the Non-cooperation movement. ... He wished the movement to be violent free, and with the violence being stuck at chauri chaura, Gandhi had no other option than to call of Non Cooperation Movement. This was called off because of the chauri chaura incident.
