In 1920, Ghandi launched the non-cooperation movement.
Mahatma Gandhi felt the need to do something to bring Indians under the same umbrella, after many freedom fighters were tortured and killed by the British.
He decided to boycott the British government, by carrying out non-violent strikes, boycotting their goods in order to raise the feeling of patriotism in minds of people.
He wanted to prove that Indians were not that inferior.
