Gandhiji wanted to join the Khilafat movement, which was led by Khan AbdulGaffar Khan, as he saw it as a golden oppurtunity to create a bond between hindus and muslims which would unite the nation and act a the biggest power to drive the British coloniasts out of India.

*it was a pan-islamic political protest campaign launched by Muslim.
*gandhiji support this to make friend between Muslims and Hindus .
*the another reason Indian Muslims are attached by ottoman empire and Muslim launched this movement to protect ottoman empire...
