Hello user!!!!!
Mahatma Gandhi in his book Hind Swaraj described the very reason for the non - cooperation movement. He said that the British rule in India exists just because of the cooperation of we, Indians. Once we would start incooperating The Britishers, then surely they will have a stand out of India. So Gandhiji said that we will launch a non cooperation movement. The word non cooperation means that from now on we r not gonna cooperate with the British and their policies.
The first stage in this movement was the surrendration of the awards and titles to the British. Under this stage, The famous poet Rabindranath Tagore surrender the title of Knighthood to the Britishers. Further it ws planned that the British institutions will b bonfired
