why did man invent a touch screen phone instead of modifying a normal landline ?

Touch screen phones have made human life easier and more comfortable then it used to be Due to Touch screen phones e-trading,E-payment, E-tickets etc are possible. Due to Touch screen u can Do video chat But in landline u were unable to do that So in every aspects of life it is useful and According to current generation we can't imagine our future without these technologies..
