The flood situation in Maharashtra caused due to heavy rains since July 24 over Marathwada, Konkan-Goa, Madhya Maharashtra flooded the river catchment of Bombay Island Basin including Ulhas River and sub- basin of Wardha River , and Godavari River and upper stream catchment areas of river Kal and Savitira.
The coastal districts in Maharashtra: Mumbai Metropolis, Thane, Ratnagiri (Mandangad, Dapoli, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Guhagar, Sangameshwar, Lanja and Rajapur) talukas) , Raigad (Panvel, Pen, Khalapur, Karjat, Alibag, Murud, Roha, Sudhagad, Tala, Mangaon, Shrivardhan, Mhasla and Poladpur talukas) and Pune (Maval, Khed, Velhe and Daund talukas), Sindhudrug(Kudal, Kankavali, Deograh, Vengural, sawantawadi, Malawan, VAibabhawadi, Doamarg Taluka), Parbhani, Nanded and Hingoli were affected including North and South Goa districts.

Power supply and telephone network is still not restored in Sub urban areas of Mumbai and Thane. In Sindhudurg 149 electric poles have been damaged
Health services affected in Ratnagiri, Raigad, Thane and Mumbai sub urban while 3 CHC in Ratnagiri, 1 PHC each in Ratnagiri and Raigad were flooded
Telecommunication: 121 telephone exchanges were affected in Ratnagiri -55, Kohlapur -8, Sindhdurg-3, Raigad 30 and Kalyan -25 also 93 GSM BTS mobile services were affected and basic services of landline are affected in Kalyan sub-urban area.
