WHY DID MENDEL SELECTED GARDEN PEA PLANT FOR HIS EXPERIMENT:
- Peas were an ideal choice for Mendel to use because they had easily observable traits there were 7 of which he could manipulate.
- Mendel planned to selectively cross pollinate the peas with one another to study the traits passed on and the results from each pollination.
- Gregor Mendel chose the pea plants for his experiments because the garden pea is an ideal subject in the study of genetics.
