When mother Teresa was the principal of St. Mary's . On 10 September 1946 , a day also known as inspiration day mother Teresa received something called call within a call . She had been traveling on a train to Darjeeling . She received an inspiration a message that told her to leave the convent and help the poor that are living there . Mother Teresa struggled for two years to get the permission of leaving the convent , which was resulting a frustrated process . The superiors thought that it was not safe for a woman to go alone and stay at the slums of Kolkata . But finally when she got the permission to do so . She left the convent and settled in the slums . Where she served the poorest of the poorest .
