Mrs. Dorling refuse to talk with narrator because she thinks that narrator came to get all her things back which they gave Mrs. Dorling during war to protect them from getting destroy.

She never thinks that narrator came to get her things back which were related to her past.

She also thinks that these were her things now because she take care of those things. And she don't want to gave those things to narrator back.
