Mrs Dorling frequently visited Mrs S's house to take Mrs S's belonging to a safe place, her house, which they could retrieve after the war because she didn't want Mrs's to lose her precious belongings in the war. She was Mrs S's old acquaintance who thought this as a best opportunity to get her belongings if something happens to them in the war.

Mrs S being a nice person did not understand her motives and thought that she was such a nice lady to volunteer them in this safekeeping of their precious things.
