Mrs. Pumphrey thought that her dog's surgery was "A Triumph Of Surgery" because as Tricki had returned from the surgeon's house, he turned into a healthy and strong dog. As soon as he returned, he started licking Mrs. Pumphrey's face. Thus, she confirmed that it was a triumph of surgery.

Answer:

Mrs. Pumphrey's dog Tricki had become hugely fat, like a bloated sausage with a leg at each corner. his eyes, bloodshot and rheumy and his tongue lolled out of his jaws. he was so listless,he seemed to have no energy.

so, Mrs. Pumphrey overfed him in order to make him feel good. she fed him some malt, cod liver oil and a bowl of horlicks . she even gave him cream cakes and chocolates because he loved eating them. looking at this condition of the dog Mr. Herriot suggested he should be hospitalised for a fortnight and to be kept under observation. later, after a fortnight(that is two weeks) he had transformed into a lithe,hard-muscled animal. he was keeping up well with the pack, stretching out in great bounds, his chest almost touching the ground.

this is the reason why Mrs. Pumphrey thought that her dogs surgery was a 'Triumph of Surgery'
