In the radio play, 'Sorry, Wrong number' by Lucille Fletcher, Mrs. Elbert Stevenson is an invalid confined to her bed for twelve years.

When she gets to know that her husband has gone on a business trip and would not be returning home that night she frantically calls the hospital .
She calls in hope that the hospital might provide her with a nurse or attendant who might spend the night with her.
Mrs Stevenson had over heard a conversation of two men from a cross connection who were planning to murder a lone woman living near a bridge.
Mrs. Stevenson was sure it was her and so her desperation of calling the hospital increased.
Unfortunately the hospital could not provide her with a nurse or attendant as all staff were occupied on duty and there was no one to be spared.
Further the hospital staff were aware of Mrs. Stevenson's habit of getting anxious trivially so considering it to be of no urgent value of emergency the hospital did not feel it necessary to intimate a doctor to prescribe her a nurse.
Even though after a lot of coaxing she managed to get the phone number of a nurse called Miss Phillips but unfortunately she too was unavailable has she had gone out for dinner.
