At first , Bahadur Shah Zafar was not ready to challenge the mighty British,but the soldiers persisted and convinced him. If he would become the leader of the Rebel it would boost the morale of people to unite and fight together. Also if they would win against the British, Bahadur shah Zafar would rule again and the small chiefs who had been ruling territories on behalf of the ruler would again gain their power. Hence the Mughal ruler agreed to support the rebel forces.
