Ratna was about 11 years old, she was skilled in playing instruments for instance she could play the harmonium.She could even sing. She was a good looking girl and possessed good qualities. The narrator had seen the morals of Ranga when he first met him, when Ranga showed his traditional values, since he was out of town so long, he still remembered those values is what impressed the narrator. So, with the help of the astrologer he fixed their marriage.
