The narrator went to number 46, Marconi street.
The narrator of the story 'The Address' had got the address ' No 46, Marconi street' from her mother before they went in hiding during the war. For a long time she did not want ot come face to face with her mother's things for fear that it will bring painful memories. But at last she went in search of the house. She searched out the house and on ringing the door bell the woman she had seen years ago with her mother came to the door. but she refused to acknowledge the narrator at first. But when she could not deny the knowledge she was oddly surprised and hostile and refused to open the door for the narrator. She sent her away saying that she had no time to talk to her then. The narrator had recognized her mother's cardigan on the woman and decided to come back later.
