Why did nationalist tensions emerge in the Balkans ? Please try to give answer in easy way.

Well, as the Balkans area was large but most of it's area was held under the Ottoman Empire.

By the time Ottoman Empire was getting weak and losing it's area. In that time the people of Balkan thought of independence and they based on their previous history says that they was independent before the foreigner came . Thus their thought rises up to gain their long lasting independence  this also create large resistance for the independence . This cause the  rise in tension in balkans.

The following were the cause of Nationalist tension emerge in the balkans :-

1) the majority of the population in the balkans state was Christian.The Muslim were ruling class . They oppressed them and clash was created.

2) Turkish Empire became very weak. It encouraged the Balkan people

3) the French Revolution inspired the balkans people for nationalism

4) therefore the Clash between the power of balkans. As a result there were many wars.
