Hari Singh did not feel happy after stealing the money because Anil is the only person who had trusted him . He gave him food to eat . Also he knew that Anil knows that he kept some money with him after bringing the needs ( vegetables , etc . ) from the market . Anil promised to teach him to read and write after which Hari Singh thought he could earn more money . And he dicided not to break his trust and so he came back and kept the money back under Anil's pillow .
