The Mandal Commission was headed by BP Mandal on 31st December 1980 and it recommends the reservation for lower caste in government jobs and educational Institution. Till 10 years this recommendation was not implemented but in 1990, 7th of August VP Singh accepted The Mandal Commission recommendation and 27% jobs where given to the OBC category.

Because of the pressure from both the sides VP Singh announced the implementation of Mandal Commission.
