why did Prem Chopra plead guilty at the end of the chapter?

When Prem Chopra found that the robot has sacrificed his life for his moral principles, he felt guilty of himself. Because, he knew he did all wrong and decided to accept his guilt in court that's why he pleaded in the court at the end of the chapter.
