To educate people since people of india when in british rule,were illiterate and he thought that people in india could only be a human resource if they are educated.This way their country would develop and will help them to fight British to overthrow them

Raja Ram Mohan Roy started news paper to spread awareness among people. In that time news paper played a major role and changed many people mind sets. He used to write ill effects of child marriages etc ... and provoked their ill effects among people.
