Answer:

rajkumar shukla was a poor and emaciated peasant. he came to the conference of indian national congress and met gandhiji and told him about the sufferings of the peasants in bihar. he believed that gandhiji would help them so he invited gandhiji to champaran. gandhiji went to mujjafarpur and tried to collect information. he went to the british authorites but was refused to be given the information. he was ready to go the jail for the peasants. after 4 rounds of talking with the governor a commision was set up which included the officials, landlords and gandhiji as the sole repersentative of peasants. it was then decided that 25% of the money would be given back to peasants. this way he broke the deadlock between landlords and peasants. slowly and gradually over the years indigo sharecropping disappeared.
