Why did rebels proclaimed that Alluri Sitaram Raju was an incarnation of god ?? What was there benifit by this statement ??

In the Gudem hills of andhra pradesh a militant movement developed slowly as the colonial government restricted the entry of the rural people in the forest. People were deprived of collecting firewood, food etc. They felt that their trafitional rights were taken away.this was done because through the forest a road has to built but the hill People revolted they were headed by aluri sitaram raju. he had a variety of speacial power he could make correct astrological sites and could survive during the bullet shots,.

Alluri Sitaram raju had some variety of Powers , he could make correct astrological predictions and heal people, he could even survive bullet shots. so tribals proclaimed him as incarnation of the god. By this statement many tribals follow him and helped him in nationalist movement
