why did Robin Hood live in the forest

Because he hated living with people and loved nature. He decided to abandon normal human life and settled in the forest to live amongst he animals, trees, and the bugs. Plus he didn't have electricity or even a toilet.

I'm guessing he regretted his decision soon enough.
