Why did sher shah focus on building good roads to connect delhi and bengal

because he wanted to increase his ruling area and his trade to increase his income and in that time Bengal is good place to trade that's why he made good roads.

Sher Shah Suri was a great builder. He built several roads and highways to improve communication and the most famous among those roads was the road from Peshawar to Bengal which to date is called Grand Trunk Road. He also built several inns, rest houses (Sarais), wells, hospitals and free kitchens. He also organized a mail service and the police. Sher Shah Suri was famous for his administrative, military and civil reforms and to make it all obstacle free, building good roads and connecting regions was necessary.
