Panhalgad was the place, siddhi johar laid a trope and siege the way to panhalgad and so the number of soldier were less and got stuck into the fort.

the britishers were with cannons and with 40000 mens, siddhi johar was accompanied by Fazal khan who wanted to take the revenge of his father's death.  shivaji maharaj later took shelter there and were caught in a dire situation because of lack of food and water. about five months to be in the same situation he realized it's time to ask for help from Aurangzeb or else they all won't survive.
