why did siraj ud daula fails in the battle of plassey

As Robert Clive bribed Mir Jafar, the commander in chief of the Nawab's army, and also promised him to make him Nawab of Bengal. He defeated the Nawab atPlassey in 1757 and captured Calcutta.

Sirajuddaula fails in his battle of Plassey because his one commanders named Mir Jafar betrayed him as he was with british because they promised him to make him nawab if they win the battle, hence he didn't fought the battle
