Answer: The Britishers wanted to exertcontrol over Bengal. They would make their factories and fortify them and that’s what they were doing. Siraj ud daulah objected the fortification and told Rozer Drag, the british official not to fortify. He in turn said that he would fill the area with Indian(muslim) heads. This angered Siraj ud daulah as he considered it to be his insult and so he attacked Calcutta, and rightfully won the factory.

Explanation:

Since he won and the Brtisher lost he had to somehow save his skin and so he wrote a letter to his masters saying that Siraj ud daulah confined many Britishers (men, women, children) in an extremely small room and thus most of them died of asphyxiation. This incident is known as the incident of black hole which was ofcourse a fake incident fabricated by Rozer Drag to save himself.

After that Robert Clive came to Bengal and conspired against Siraj ud daulah. They even included Mir Jafar, Omi Chand and told Mir Jafar that he will be the next Nawab if he helps them. It was then time for the famous Battle of Plassey where siraj ud daulah lost as a majority of his army didn’t even fight as they were under Mir Jafar and the rest. Following which the Britishers got to know the weakness of the Indian polity and thus starting their torturous rule in India.
