Slavic nationalist struggle in the 19th century was as a result of;

1. This is because the Slavic states existed as discrete Kingdoms and states.

Hence their kingdoms and the states were easy to acquire by such powerful countries such as the Russian and the British.

So due to the fact that they wanted to unite their their small states the Slavic struggle took place.
