They exploited the employees who sincerely worked for the production.

This ill-treatment to the workers gave rise to dissent, and they started to protest.

Many Americans understood their problems which were actually true and supported the cause and boycotted the use of grapes to prove their solidarity and protest against the grape owners.

Many shopkeepers also joined this movement.
