Why did srilanka Tamils feel aliemted from Sinhalese ?

The Sinhalese were a major dominating power in Srilanka. They were majority and dominated the srilankan tamils. They declared their language to be official and propagated their religion. The tamilian language was given no importance. They were not given right to education and job opportunities. Hence they felt alienated from sinhalese.
