Answer:

The reasons behind the slower rate of technological changes in the factories in Britain in the early 19th century were:

1.The technology did not spread rapidly and uniformly throughout Europe.New technology was expensive and was not

appreciated initially by merchants and industrialists.he machines often broke down and their repair and maintenance was costly. They did not

seemed to be as effective as claimed by the manufacturers.

2.At the beginning of the 19th century, there were about 321 steam engines all over Britain.Of these 80 were found in cotton industries, 9 in

woollen industries and rest in mining and coal industries.

3. The usage of steam engine was limited in the beginning of the 19th century. It was one of the most important invention of the century but the

industrialists took time to implement it in production.
