Indian Forests

Explanation:

The British wanted regular supply of timber for ship-building and for railway sleepers for laying railway tracks.

The Forest Act was passed in 1865 . According to this Act Indian Forests was divided into 3 categories- reserved, protected and village forests.

The villagers were not allowed to enter into the forests. Their entry was prohibited.
