why did the city folk turn out of sorts?​

The fiance and I are pretty frequent players of AC. I started with the original on GC and picked back up when we met and played City Folk on her Wii. We have New Leaf, but I'm just not a fan of handheld gaming. I want the big screen look. So, what's the biggest drawback from City Folk? Why is it usually considered the worst?

Maybe we'll get a Wii U announcement at E3 this year. :)
