QUESTION:-

Why did the constitution framers make provisions for amendments in the Indian constitution?

Give 4 reasons.

ANSWER:-

The Amendment means fluctuations or modifications made in any official statements, agreements, legal documents, legislation etc.

The Constitution Framers Make Provisions For Amendments In The Indian Constitution Because:-

  • The Constitution of India is a very lengthy and detailed document. Thus, it needs to be amended relatively regularly to keep it revised.

  • Those who proposed the Indian Constitution did not see it as a religious, fixed and unalterable law. So, they made provisions to integrate changes from time to time. These changes are called Constitutional Amendments.

  • Constitutions need to be amended over time to adjust provisions that are insufficient, to concede to new necessities, comprising enhancing rights, etc. Otherwise, the text of a constitution cannot indicate social facts and political necessities over time

  • Amendments are made in the Constitution so that it can fulfil the changing demands of society and can alter itself with the shifting necessities of the time. In this manner, it can sustain its flexibility.
