Margie was disappointed because she had hoped the County Inspector would take her mechanical teacher along with him to repair it; once Tommy's mechanical teacher had developed a snag; it had been taken away for a month. However, the County Inspector fixed the problem without any delay.

- In the story "The Fun They Had" written by American writer Isaac Asimov, the county inspector visits Margie's house for checking if anything was wrong with the mechanical teacher. He got to know that the mechanical teacher was geared up excessively fast and said that Margie's all-around performance was satisfactory and decent enough. He mended the teacher and slowed it down to an average fifth-grade level.
- In the story, which is laid in the year 2157 the two children named Margie and Tommy discover an old paper book and evaluate how charming it is when distinguished with television screens on which they read in their own time.
