The Indian Rebellion was to be the end of the East India Company. In the wake of this blood uprising, the British government effectively abolished the Company in 1858. All of its administrative and taxing powers, along with its possessions and armed forces, were taken over by the Crown.

East India Company turn it's attention to India because at the time India was the richest country in the world and the spices from India were sold in Europe at high prices. There are many other reasons but this is the main reason.
