the fellow trainees dislike private quelch as he always show his knowledge in front of others and also he always disrupt the trainees in between their explanation.when the trainees give explanation he always disrupt them in between and start asking questions from them.

The other trainees disliked Private Quelch because the latter was a very condescending man. He felt himself to be the most superior of all. He was miraculously tireless and always had the tendency to lecture people, considering everyone to be ignorant. He never missed any opportunity to show off his erudition. This led to other trainees avoiding him all the time, horrified at his approach.
