Answer:

This failed due to the reason that it did not take place at the same time and instead in different time in different place. It was supposed to arise a few days after but due to many causes it arouse earlier. Many of the Prince's remained loyal to the British. Thus it failed.

Here is your Answer :-

The First War of Independence fail inspite of the participation of different sections of Indian  Society Due to Following Reasons :-

1. There was a absolute lack of coordinated leadership , The rebel soldiers without their British Officers, could not manage to use their superior numbers to their Advantage. In fact after mutinying they moved to Delhi with a view to install Bahadur Shah as the Emperor of India, it was something he just did not want to do, as he was enjoying pension of the East India Company, his old age also prevented him to do anything else.

2. All the Rajahs and Ranis , Nawabs and Zamindar's who did participate had their own vested interests, to secure their own fiefdom. There was no concept or idea of a independent India free of the British.

3 A armed revolt is doomed to fail, without leadership, and adequate intelligence of the enemy. Lack of financial and material support was also a major factor after some time. With lack of funds to pay the soldiers many just went back to their villages.

4. Only the Bengal Army ( Northern Army was involved in the Mutiny primarily) The Bombay and Madras Armies were not affected, and we're used effectively against the rebel forces. The British also raised and used fresh troops from the Sikhs, Gurkha's, Rajputs and, the Northwest frontier provinces, They could also manage to get reinforcements quickly through the Suez canal route along with men and material.

5. We Indians study Military history by just talking about sacrifices and bravery of soldiers, whenever there is a adverse result, fact is battles are won more by good logistics, overall strategy, planning and good tactical moves in the Battlefield. Only courage cannot win battles though it's a very essential for every soldier to be courageous.

Hope it Helps.
