The first meeting of the little boy and the giant was beneath the only tree in the garden that was covered with snow and frost.The giant took him gently in his arms and put him up on a branch of the tree.The tree was at once covered with blossoms and birds came on it and sang happily.The little boy stretched out his two little arms,flung them round the giant's neck and kissed him.The boy was not afraid of the giant.This sweet gesture from a boy who barely knew the giant, touched the giant's heart and he was elated.The boy had kissed him while the other children were afraid to even come near the giant.This was why the giant loved that particular boy the most and longed to see him.
