why did the gods decidede to test shibi Rana ?

The gods decided to test shibi because he was known for his truthfulness, kindness, justice and most importantly keeping his word. He believed that there is no meaning in living without dharma. The gods were also jealous of him. So the gods, Lord Indra and Lord Agni decided to test for his strength of character.
