Why did the Helen's family plan to go to Baltimore? What happened there?

Helen made a trip to Baltimore with her parents to meet Dr,Chisholm, who was known to be successful in healing many eye disease cases but the trip ended in a hopeless word from the doctor. However the doctor directed them to Dr. Alexander Graham Bell of Washington. Helen was very comfortable in the presence of Graham Bell and little did she know that this trip would transform her life and pave way from the darkness into the light. Dr. Bell advised Helen's father to write to Mr.Anagnos who would assign a teacher to assist Helen in her learning. It is this journey that brought Miss Sullivan into Helen's life and this lady guided Helen into the world of learning. 

Actually helen's parents made a trip to Baltimore for having a word with the doctor Chisholm Because they thought that he will be able to treat the eyes of helens as he had treated a lot of people's Eyes. But doctor even could not help the Helen to get over her darkness but he just directed the helens family to meet doctor Alexander Graham Bell. And when Helen and her family went to Dr Alexander Graham Bell the Helen felt very comfortable in the arms of Dr Alexander Graham Bell and dr. Alexander Told them to contact with Mr anagnos who is the director of perkins Institution and he and he was sure that he would be able to arrange a teacher for the helens and finally he was able to arrange a teacher named miss Anne Sullivan who was able to brought light into her Dark World
