Why did the jordans suspect the slaters about the bureau.

as slaters has not visited Jordan's house for years and they didn't know about the bureau in their house so they wanted to suspect from them.... because the grandfather was no more....

Before the arrival of the Jordans, the Slaters wanted to shift the grandfather's bureau to their room. Amelia Slater was very fond of the bureau and was not at all willing to share with her sister, Elizabeth Jordan. Since Elizabeth had not arrived at the Slaters' place from many years, Amelia thought of not sharing it with her and keeping it at her house.
