Why did the king go to the hermit in disguise ?

As the disguised king was leaving the hermits’ cottage the next day, the hermit inquired as whether he still wanted to the know his answers. On this he gave an enthusiastic yes. “Very well then, come and sit next to me under the tree “ said the hermit.
“The man whom you healed yesterday night was the most important man. The time you were bandaging him was the most important time and the most important thing was to heal him.” Said the hermit.

The king returned back to his palace satisfied. He had got his well deserved answers....

“To sum it up”, said my spiritual master, “remember always,the most important person is the one with whom you are at present moment, the most important time is the present time, because it is in your control and the most important thing to do is to help that very person with whom you are and make that person happy.”

Respectfully, I bowed my master with deep gratitude and walked one step further along the path of spiritual awakening.....

Yesterday is history....tomorrow is a mystery....today is your gift...that is why we call it "the present".....Really loved your lucidly written blog....I do agree that if we stay in the present ..life will be simpler..easier and better..It is human nature to look back with regret....or fondness...but in doing so we stop enjoying what we have in our hands...Similarly over-cautious and ambitious people plan too much for the future...they tooo fail to live....and when their plans fail..they get depressed...and so on...then they can't get out of this vicious cycle....and this is the "karmic circle"......The only person who can escape this is one who lives
