BCS was called 'Eton of the East' as the comparison comes from Eton College in Eton in the South-central England. Eton College was established in 1440 and enjoyed the status of the elite public school. BCS has been a famous school providing education on the pattern of British public school and hence the comparison.

from before kiplings time the school had been known on English Public School lines ,and the boss most of them away from wealthy families, wore Blazers, caps and ties,life magazine in a feature on India had one called it "The Eton of East "it was a prestigious school in Berkshire in England
