Constitution framers supported secularism to avoid further bloodshed among different religions.
They believed in unity in diversity and if something could threaten it was the different ideology of different religions. They thought the ways to nourish a kind of commonness among us and made India a secular state that is the state doesn't have its own religion and permits full freedom to its citizen to profess religion of his/her choice
-I hope it will help.
