Judy Oakentubb, the very lady he is going to see in Stainthorpe. Mrs. Oakentubb killed this man's wife and daughter in a car accident and he wants to avenge their “murder”. If the man had not seen the label, he would have remained oblivion of her identity and the murder would not have taken place.

Answer: The reason is given below:-
Explanation:
- Mrs. Oakentubb arrives by train. It rained. To warm up. Her train to Stainthorpe was due in 20 minutes
- As she removes her gloves and extends her hands, a man enters. He also took Mrs. Oakentubb's train to Stainthorpe.
- As the porter leaves, they talk. The Man informs Mrs. Oakentubb he'll see her in Stainthorpe.
- He says he saw a newspaper photo of her but couldn't determine how she appeared.
- He says I'll see her about something essential. Man accuses her of killing his wife and daughter in a car accident. Mrs. Oakentubb says it was accidental. Manslaughter was ruled. Mrs. Oakentubb drove rapidly to a cocktail reception to win £5/=. She killed Man's wife and daughter. She served her 18-month prison sentence.
- The Man doesn't like her punishment. He desired retribution for wrecking his family life and killing his wife and children. So he pulls a gun on her.
- Mrs. Oakentubb convinces the Man that he would be doing her a favor by killing her, because if she were alive, she would continue to witness his wife and daughter's crushed remains.
- The accident scene will haunt her forever, which is dreadful. She reaches her hand out, he pushes her down, and she starts crying.
- The man agrees and leaves. When he leaves, she rushes to her feet and "puts her fingers on his nose."
- The door opens and a man walks in to get his bags. What he sees angers him, so he pulls out a gun and shoots. Man gets retribution after she dies.
