The phrase is taken from the story, The Gentleman of Jungle. The man had protested as no animals were included from his side.

  • The man protested to see Enquiry commission workers because animals did not include anyone on the side of man.
  • He inquired, whether there was a need to include a member in the commission from his side. But he was told it was unlikely, since none on his side was sufficiently educated to understand the intricacy of laws of the jungle.
  • In defense of their stance, animals further assured him there was nothing to fear because commission members were all men of repute for their impartiality in justice. He said in their behalf, that God chose them to look after the good of mankind.
