unlike human being a mirror is not at all affected by fear and hatred ; our conception of a thing or an object may be guided by our feelings but so far as a mirror is concerned; it's feeling are the same always, unimpressed by anybody considerations. A human being's view of other is affected by love or hatred and therefore may be untrue. However, it is not so with the mirror. The mirror does not allow it's reflection to be clouded by such feeling. Hence , it's reflection are unmisted . The mirror admits that it is truthful, but not cruel. Hence perhaps, the reference is to people in general , as truth itself is cruel to human.
