Why did the money lenders and traders penetrate the forests?

The traders were keen on buying forest produce from tribals, offering then cash, loans and also offered them to works for wages. The traders who purchased goods from the tribals offered and gave very less price to them. They further sold the product at higher prices, making huge amount of profit. In this way the traders indulged in massive exploitation to the tribals.
